Sound Attenuation
Quiet Floors - Happy Residents
Buyers are becoming increasingly aware that some new buildings now incorporate sound attenuation technology in their floors. M.A. Concrete supplies and installs a variety of products designed to decrease the effects of sound transmission from footfalls, impact, and general noise from the unit above. These products will allow a traditional floor assembly to meet the higher STC* and IIC* ratings now required by many Architects.

Installations done right
In order to maintain the integrity of the sound attenuation system, care must be taken during installation to ensure the products are installed to manufacturer's specifications. A perimeter gasket is installed along all walls that would otherwise come into contact with the topping. The sound mat is then installed and sealed with tape to the gasket. This completely isolates the topping from the wood frame and is a major contributor to decreasing sound transmission.
